Q:Does SkyBus have compartments for luggage?

A:There are ample compartments for luggage and our staff is more than happy to help you load your luggage into the compartment. However, for safety reasons our staff cannot assist you unloading your luggage by default.
If you can’t unload your luggage yourself, please approach one of our ground staff and of course they will be happy to assist you.

Q:What is the seating arrangement on the bus?

A:There are two seats on either side of the bus with an aisle in the middle. Whether you book your bus ticket in advance or on the spot, inside the bus there is free seating (no seats are assigned upon ticket purchase, it’s first-come-first-serve).
Naturally, if you have any special requests please get in touch with our customer support or ground staff and we will do our best to fulfill any requests you may have.

A:All our Skybuses can seat 44 people comfortably.

The schedule

Q:How reliable is the SkyBus service especially in the early hours of the morning?

A:Very reliable. SkyBus follows a strict schedule. We strive for excellence by keeping a close watch on punctuality for buses departing and arriving. However, sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances, timing may be compromised. Rest assured, we have enough buses on standby to stand in should any unforeseen event occur, and our staff will keep informed in such events.

Q:Is the SkyBus service available daily from Monday to Sunday?

A:SkyBus operates daily, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, including public holidays. At KL SENTRAL, during peak times, buses run at 15-minute intervals and at off peak times, they run at 30-minute intervals. SkyBus schedules are available at KL Sentral, 1Utama and LCCT KL/klia2.

Q:Is your SkyBus convenient to travel with small kids in town?

A:Most definitely, and safe as well. There are safety belts installed in every seat to keep your kids in their seats, and our staff can help you stowing any additional luggage you may carry for your children. Besides that, children under the age of 3 travel for free.

Q:How do I make a booking for groups larger than 20?

A:Please contact our group booking department at info@skybus.com.my for enquiries of more than 20 persons, so we can make the necessary arrangement together.

Q:What is the fare for children?

A:Children below the age of 3 travel for free. For children above 3-11 years it is RM6 per child from KL Sentral to LCCT KL/klia2 or LCCT KL/klia2 to KL Sentral route one-way and RM8 per child from 1 Utama to LCCT KL/klia2 - KLIA or KLIA - LCCT Kl/klia2 to 1Utama route one-way. (Only applicable for counter purchase)

Q:What is the fare for Senior Citizens?

A:Half the cash fare rounded up to the closest ringgit. (Only applicable at counter purchase with proof of documents)

Q:Is the ticket price the same regardless of time of departure?

A:Yes. Whether you take the bus early in the morning, in the afternoon, or in the middle of the night, the ticket price is same.

Q:Where can I buy the bus ticket?

A:There are 3 ways to purchase your ticket:
On www.airasia.com you can add-on your SkyBus ticket when purchasing your flight
On our website www.skybus.com.my at all times
Upon embarkation at LCCT KL/klia2, KL Sentral, 1Utama. You simply pay in cash.

Q:How do we get to KL Sentral from the various bus terminals?

A:There’s various ways to get to KL Sentral. You can take a cab (every cab driver knows where KL Sentral is), you can take the LRT (Light Rapid Transit) or MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) or the KTM Komuter to get to KL Sentral. If you’re unsure about Malaysia’s public transportation system, we recommend you take a cab.

Q:How do I find the bus terminal at KL Sentral?

A:For KL Sentral, the SkyBus terminal is located at the lower ground floor of it. It faces the open air car park and Jalan Tun Sambanthan. There are clear sign-boards in KL Sentral to aid passengers.

Q:How do I find the bus terminal at 1Utama?

A:For 1Utama, the Skybus departs from the bus stand on the lower ground floor of 1Utama New Wing entrance (facing the open air carpark and outside Cold Storage).

Q:How do I find the bus terminal at LCCT KL/klia2?

A:For LCCT KL/klia2 from the international arrival hall you walk straight for about 3 minutes until you see an escalator. Once down on your left you will see the SkyBus terminal, Skybus tickets can be purchased inside both International and Domestic Arrival Halls. There is also a Skybus counter just in front of the Bus Terminal on Level 1.

Q:Do outstation buses (including those from Singapore) also arrive and depart from KL Sentral/ 1Utama?

A:No, they do not from KL Sentral. But, yes, they do from 1Utama.

Q:Does the bus go straight to LCCT KL/klia2 or does it stop anywhere else?

A:SkyBus is a direct shuttle between KL Sentral/ 1Utama and LCCT KL/klia2. The bus does not make any stops along the way, nor does it go to KLIA.

Q:From klia2, how does one get to KLIA?

A:You can use a train between LCCT KL/klia2 and KLIA. The fare is RM2 one way. Proceed to the information counter at klia2 to get all the information you need.

Q:Are KL Sentral and 1Utama the only station where the bus departs from for LCCT KL/klia2?

A:Yes. Currently, we only leave from KL Sentral and 1Utama. In the future, there are plans for multiple pickup points. At the moment, however, you would need to make your own way to KL Sentral and 1Utama.

Q:Where are the nearest hotels to KL Sentral located?

A:The KL Hilton and Le Meridien are located next to KL Sentral. Across Jalan Tun Sambanthan, you will find many budget hotels. For more information on hotels we suggest you use www.tripadvisor.com

Reservations & Bookings

Q:Can I purchase the bus tickets in advance?

A:Yes. You can order your ticket on www.skybus.com.my, however booking your ticket in advance does not secure your seat, the seats are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Q:Do I need to produce the AirAsia flight itinerary to purchase the SkyBus ticket?

A:Not necessary. Tickets can be purchased at designated SkyBus ticket booth at LCCT KL/klia2 (located at domestic and international arrival as well as at Level 1 Transportation Hub. At KL Sentral you can purchase your ticket at lower ground floor at KL Sentral, SkyBus terminal and at designated SkyBus ticket booth at 1Utama

Q:Is this service only for those who carry AirAsia flight tickets or can anyone use this mode of transportation?

A:This service is for everyone, you do not need an AirAsia flight ticket per se.

Q:Are there any terms and conditions attached to the price?

A:Yes. Please read our terms and conditions here as stated on the ticket and as extensively outlined in this website.

Q:What time is your ticket counter open at LCCT KL/klia2?

A:From 4.30 a.m. until 2.30 a.m. at LCCT KL/klia2.

Q:What time should I book for domestic flight ?

A:Check in at LCCT KL/klia2 two hours before departure. Time slot recommended is minimum 3 hours prior. Example: your flight departs from klia2 at 9:30pm, the recommended SkyBus time slot for you would be 6:30pm.

Q:What time should I book for international flights ?

A:Check in at LCCT KL/klia2 2.5 hours prior to flight departure. Time slot recommended is minimum 3.5 hours prior. Example: your flight departs from LCCT KL/klia2 at 9:30pm, the recommended SkyBus time slot for you would be 6:00pm.

Q:Is there staff at 3:00am at KL Sentral and 1Utama?

A:Our first departure is at 3.00am, we do have our staff ready at 2.30am to assist passengers travelling by our first bus.

Q:Does Skybus go to KL city hotels, other bus terminals?

A:No. Skybus is running its operations only between LCCT KL/klia2 and KL Sentral or 1Utama.

Q:Does Skybus stop in LCCT KL/klia2 or outside the airport.

A:Yes, Skybus stops right in front of LCCT KL/klia2, at LEVEL1, so that you can proceed straight to your departure hall.

Q:Can we store a large items such as a surfboard, a bicycle, or a TV in the bus compartment?

A:Yes, you can take your sports equipment and place into a bus compartment if it is properly packed to prevent the damage. In case of full capacity of the bus and lot of luggage it might occur that we cannot carry your oversized equipment, in such case we’d recommend for you to take the following bus (so if you are carrying large luggage, please make sure you arrive at the SkyBus terminal 15 minutes earlier than usual).

Q:Can we pay online ticket by debit card beside credit card

A:Yes, you can use your debit card while paying online.

Q:I don’t understand following codes in my Air Asia Invoice. SKYB1/SKYB2 or ASM1/ASM2/ASM3, ASM4 – what does it stand for?

A:Following codes explain the type of ticket you have purchased:
Old codes SKYB1(KLS/LCCT KL/klia2 route) & SKYB2(1-Utama route)
New codes ASM1 (KLS/LCCT KL/klia2 route) / ASM2 (1Utama route).
